Rapid Racking

Stephanie Down, a Warehouse Operative, works in the Rapid Racking warehouse. She tells us about her everyday life in the English subsidiary specialising in shelving and storage solutions.

Tell us about your career path at Rapid Racking…

I joined the company very recently as a Warehouse Operative. After a few weeks as a temp, I had the opportunity to sign a permanent contract in September.

With International Women’s Day coming, as a woman in the warehouse, what is your daily life like?

I try to be as versatile as possible: I prepare orders, drive forklift trucks, stock the products… I’m completely dedicated because it’s a demanding job but I know I can always count on my colleagues if I need help. A woman can accomplish these everyday tasks, just like a man. It’s just a matter of practice and keeping at it!

Which values are particularly important to you?

Of the six phrases that illustrate the Manutan Group’s valuesI completely identify with this one: ‘At Manutan, we love Human Relations & Goodwill.’ Every day, we give the best of ourselves so that the work is done well and our customers are satisfied. There is true commitment and a wonderfully supportive team spirit.

What advice would you give to an applicant who wants to Join the Manutan adventure?

Joining Rapid Racking is almost like joining a family! I’d say that you have to like teamwork and want to learn. You must also stay positive and help and care about others.
