Valentin Meyer tells us about his career at Casal Sport, the subsidiary specialising in sports equipment, from his arrival on a work/study programme to joining the company permanently as a buyer.
Valentin Meyer joined Casal Sport in 2020 as a buyer on a work/study programme. After obtaining his two qualifications (Master’s in Management and International Business at the University of Poitiers and Master of Science Purchasing and Supply Chain Management at Excelia), he joined the Offer Marketing department on a permanent basis.
As a buyer, he manages the subsidiary’s entire supplier portfolio. “My everyday work is very connected to our suppliers’ businesses. There are the negotiations on one hand, as well as support on topics such as CSR or the own brand,” he says.
Since his arrival, Valentin has seized multiple opportunities to progress. In addition to training another person on a work/study programme on this job, he is continuing to strengthen his expertise through various training courses on remote negotiation and purchasing strategy.
