Responsibilities and missions

Grow the Design team and take the Design vision to a strategic level. As Head of Design within the e-Commerce/Cx Department you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of UX/UI product designers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the design strategy, ensuring the delivery of user-centric and visually compelling solutions, and driving our commitment to excellence in customer experience. Main Responsibilities:  

  • Team Leadership: Motivate and coach the team, stimulate creativity, develop skills, define career paths... 
  • Grow: Attract and recruit talented Designers (/ User researchers / UX writers...).
  • Design Strategy: Define the design team's objectives and priorities. Develop and execute a clear design strategy aligned with business objectives. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: organize the design team to ensure effective communication and collaboration (with tech and Product) throughout the product development lifecycle. Work closely with feature teams to align design efforts with the overall product vision and user needs. Collaborate with the CMI team to integrate customer feedback & market trends into the design process.
  • Design Standards: Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure a cohesive and best in class user experience across our products. 
  • Design rituals: Create and implement design team processes and rituals. 
  • Make it shiny: promote the Design team externally to raise Manutan's profile and attract new talent. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in design, business School, engineering school or a related field (Master's is a plus). 

At least 7 years of experience in product and service design  

+3 years of experience managing and mentoring a design team. 

Cross-disciplinary skills in product design, UI and user research, enabling you to support a team with a wide range of profiles 

Proven experience in leading design systems. 

Strong aptitude for management: you enjoy recruiting and developing people, especially designers 

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. 

Strong sensitivity to data: you see it as a means of verifying hypotheses and intuitions and generating new ideas 

You show leadership in spreading the design culture and representing the voice of users internally

You are data-driven : you see it as a means of verifying hypotheses and intuitions and generating new ideas 

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and international environment and meet deadlines. 

Experience in B2B e-commerce design is an asset to understand the particularities of the market and customer expectations. 


Languages

English fluent (bilingual French/English is a plus).
