Manutan unveils its Content & Product Index
Product content holds significant importance in our B2B distribution business. Comprehensive, up-to-date, and high-quality content profoundly influences customers' purchasing journeys. Recognizing this, the Manutan Group has developed a new tool aimed at measuring, monitoring, and enhancing the quality of its product content: the Content & Product Index (CPI).
What constitutes good product content?
At Manutan, we believe that good product content comprises:
- Text: name, description, attributes...
- Documents: user manuals and/or installation guides, legal documents...
- Digital resources: images, videos, 360° views...
By meticulously combining these elements, product content is deemed satisfactory, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience and optimizing sales.
A data-driven tool
In light of this, the Master Data Management (MDM) teams have devised the CPI to gauge, track, and enhance the quality of our product content. Our methodology rests on 14 evaluation criteria that we deem pivotal for high-quality product content.
Drawing from our product database, each criterion undergoes automatic scrutiny to ensure alignment with our e-merchandising charter. The outcome is a comprehensive quality rating for product content, expressed as a percentage.
A continuous improvement project
The CPI, currently being rolled out across all subsidiaries, aims to evolve into a unified quality management tool. To achieve this, our teams have access to an incredibly precise dashboard enabling them to filter results by criteria, product category, referencing mode, and more. This will enable us to integrate these indicators into our interactions with suppliers and annual assessments alongside other performance criteria.
Jérôme Braud, Group Director of Product Content, explains: "This tool will progressively be introduced to all our partner suppliers, sharing detailed results and identifying quick wins together. This has already commenced at our Supplier Event in France and will continue at the upcoming event in the Netherlands. It marks the beginning of collaborative work where all stakeholders emerge as winners."
This initiative underscores our profound commitment to quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.
