The roll-out of our product environmental impact score is picking up pace!
Fueled by our ambition to enterprise for a better World, the Manutan Group launched its product environmental impact score last September. Over the past six months, we've been working to implement this approach across our entire range, in collaboration with our suppliers. Together, we've ramped up efforts, now reaching nearly 10,000 scored references.
A symbolic milestone achieved
Following a pilot phase, we've extended this approach to all our "office furniture" categories: tables, chairs, cabinets, and shelves. As of now, nearly 10,000 references are adorned with this environmental impact score, visible on the websites of our generalist subsidiaries within the Enterprises Division[1].
All our teams are now committed to further data collection, product assessment, and enhancing user experience within this product category.
Another wave on the horizon
Starting in May, we will launch a second wave of deployment across other categories: workshop furniture, lockers, hand tools, storage drums and containers, shelving, presentation and display stands, waste management, and outdoor furniture. This encompasses 50,000 references from 200 suppliers!
This new deployment wave marks a pivotal milestone, paving the way for new flagship product families offered by Manutan. The ambition within three years: to cover our entire range, totaling over 700,000 products.
We're proud to have our suppliers onboard in developing such a distinctive tool in the market. We're convinced: it's by continuing to combine our strengths that we can position ourselves as agents of change.
What is the environmental impact score developed by Manutan?
Our environmental impact score allows for the measurement and display of environmental impacts (including CO2) of products, using a standardized and quantified methodology (in line with the Product Environmental Footprint developed and advocated by the European Commission). With this approach, we aim to meet the growing needs of all our stakeholders. We support our customers in their responsible purchasing initiatives by providing total transparency to facilitate their choices, while assisting our suppliers in measuring, understanding, and reducing their environmental impacts.
