Kruizinga opens its circular headquarters built with 85% recycled materials

Kruizinga, a subsidiary of the Manutan Group and a leading online distributor of storage and transport equipment, has officially opened its new circular headquarters in Wapenveld, the Netherlands, just a stone’s throw from its existing logistics facilities. This ambitious project reflects the company’s vision: combining performance, sustainability, and workplace wellbeing to support long-term growth. 

A forward-looking, future-proof project 

Construction began in June 2024 in partnership with local firms Lagemaat and Mensink, and was completed in just 15 months. True to a circular approach, 85% of the materials used were repurposed, with most components designed to be dismantled and reused in the future. 

Smart energy management systems, including climate control and lighting, have also been integrated to minimise the site’s environmental footprint from day one. These architectural and technical choices underline the company’s commitment to a better planet, while significantly reducing energy consumption and enhancing employee comfort. 

A workplace designed to inspire 

Spread across 1,600 square metres over two floors, the new headquarters provides space for around 100 employees. Open, light-filled work areas, green features and ergonomic furniture all contribute to staff wellbeing. 

The interior layout has been carefully planned to encourage movement and collaboration, while also offering quiet spaces for focus and concentration. 

A project shaped with employees, for employees 

From the very outset, staff were closely involved in shaping the project. Through dedicated working groups, they were able to share their needs and ideas, directly influencing the design and choice of furniture for both workspaces and communal areas. This collaborative approach has resulted in an environment that truly reflects them – meaningful, distinctive, and something they are proud of.
