Manutan Group supports its customers in decarbonising indirect procurement
Manutan Group, European leader in B2B e-commerce, has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This trajectory is aligned with the Paris Agreement, and its medium-term targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Today more than ever, this commitment means helping our customers reduce the carbon impact of their purchasing. To this end, we are developing practical, accessible and measurable solutions to help both private and public organisations significantly reduce the carbon footprint of their indirect spend.
Focusing efforts where the impact is greatest
Over the past three years, we have reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 41%. These are the direct and indirect emissions linked to our consumption of electricity and district heating and cooling networks.
However, our main decarbonisation lever lies within Scope 3, which encompasses all other indirect greenhouse gas emissions. The reason is simple: 99% of our total emissions are linked to the products we sell.
This is where we are now concentrating our efforts — as close as possible to the operational needs and day-to-day realities of our customers. Working hand in hand with our suppliers and our wider ecosystem, we are committed to turning professional purchasing into a genuine lever for decarbonisation.
Supporting customers from assessment through to performance management
Our teams support businesses and public authorities, regardless of their size or location, in effectively reducing the CO₂ emissions associated with their purchases. This approach is structured around three key stages.
1. Understanding in order to act
We begin by carrying out a detailed assessment of the environmental footprint of each organisation’s purchasing. This analysis identifies the most carbon-intensive categories of spend, helps prioritise actions, and enables us to design tailored action plans.
2. Steering choices towards low-carbon solutions
To reduce the impact of purchasing, we draw on several complementary levers. Firstly, our environmental impact score — available across part of our range — helps customers identify lower-carbon alternatives. At the same time, we continue to expand our offering of circular products and services: refurbished product shops, take-back and recovery services for used equipment, repair services, rental solutions, and more. These solutions contribute both to emissions reduction and to cost optimisation. They are underpinned by our Circular Hub dedicated to the reuse of professional furniture, as well as by our strong network of partners.

3. Tracking results over time
Once the action plan is in place, we remain alongside organisations to ensure effective performance management. A dedicated dashboard enables customers to track avoided emissions, measure performance and refine actions as part of a continuous improvement approach. This improvement plan therefore becomes a shared, long-term project.
Our ambition is to support customers in decarbonising their procurement by giving them the tools to make informed choices. This is built on simple, transparent and effective solutions, aligned with their own sustainability goals. This is the essence of our mission: entreprising for a better World.
