Manutan launches its first podcast to celebrate 60 years of history

13 July 2026

To mark its 60th anniversary, the Manutan Group is launching its very first podcast, "60 Years of History". Across three episodes, the series gives a voice to the people who have shaped the company: founder Jean-Pierre Guichard, Chairman Xavier Guichard, and Chief Executive Officer Pierre-Olivier Brial. Through personal stories, shared values and reflections on the future, they look back on the journey of a family business that has grown into Europe's leading B2B e-commerce company.

Listen to the podcast

Episode 1: The beginning

The first episode tells the story of how an extraordinary entrepreneurial journey began. It all started over a Sunday lunch, with what was then a bold idea: selling materials handling equipment to businesses through a mail-order catalogue.

In 1966, André Guichard founded Manutan together with his son, Jean-Pierre. They mailed out their first catalogues, steadily expanded the product range, entered international markets and eventually listed the company on the stock exchange. Each milestone reflects Manutan's ability to embrace change while remaining true to the values on which it was founded. A few years later, Xavier joined the business, which has since grown into a company generating more than €1 billion in annual revenue.

Episode 2: The present

The second episode explores the identity and vision that continue to drive Manutan's development. Over the years, the Group has established itself as a strong, innovative European business with a clear focus on the future. As Jean-Pierre puts it, Manutan is also "a company with added warmth".

Xavier and Pierre-Olivier reflect on some of the defining challenges of recent decades, from digital transformation to overcoming a cyberattack. Their story highlights an agile and resilient organisation, built on a culture of trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to creating sustainable value.

Episode 3: Looking ahead

The third episode looks at the prospects that lie ahead in a world undergoing profound change. Artificial intelligence, the environmental transition, evolving value chains and changing customer expectations are reshaping the business landscape at an unprecedented pace.

For Manutan, these developments represent as many opportunities as they do challenges. The Group remains committed to supporting its customers as they navigate an increasingly complex environment by combining technological excellence, strong human relationships and a responsible approach to business.

More than a look back at six decades of success, this podcast is a story of the people, decisions and values that have shaped the Manutan Group. Beyond business growth, it is the collective commitment, entrepreneurial spirit and determination to keep moving forward that have defined the company for the past 60 years.
