Manutan reviews its 'Leaders of Tomorrow' programme

11 February 2021

A year and a half ago, the Manutan group launched its 'Leaders of Tomorrow' programme with a twofold objective: to identify its potential future directors and leaders, while supporting them in their career development within the Group. This is how the first wave of 21 employees from across Europe began a fascinating and formative adventure.

For 18 months, the participants followed a rich and captivating programme: a personalised training course developed in collaboration with ESCP Business School, a learning expedition to Berlin to discover innovative and inspiring companies, visits to subsidiaries and departments throughout the Group, teamwork surrounding a strategic project and a pitch in front of members of the Group Operational Board...

Brigitte Auffret, Manutan Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer, comments: "Our primary satisfaction is to see that at the end of the programme nearly three-quarters of the participants' scope had changed or they took on a new role. Today, the session is coming to an end but the participants wanted to continue to benefit from support in taking up their roles because after all, it's just the beginning!"

Grégoire Dorsemaine, Group Category Management Director based at the French headquarters, describes his experience as a participant: "The high level of teaching, Management's involvement and the personalised support were major assets. I was able to learn innovative project management methodologies that I now use on a daily basis and we created a real community that improves cross-departmental communication today."

Dimitra Koutsochera, Director of Operations and Customer Service for the Tradespeople Division in the United Kingdom and also a programme participant, says: "I had the opportunity not only to know colleagues from around the Group and work closer with them but also expand my knowledge in terms of sales and operations planning which is very relevant to my day-to-day work. I especially enjoyed the time for discussion and teamwork. The best moment was when we could see in real life the impact of our project in the field. I am very grateful that I joined this programme as it helped me develop both personally and professionally."

Because the Manutan group places its employees' development at the heart of its actions, this programme is a wonderful illustration of the values that inspire it: progress, sharing and continuous improvement.
