Charitable actions in the spotlight at the end of 2023

As part of our CSR strategy, we want to actively contribute to a fairer society. That's why we regularly provide material and financial support to partner associations. Last December, all our subsidiaries across Europe joined forces to make the festive season a time for solidarity.

At Manutan France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and our specialist sports equipment subsidiary, Casal Sport, vast collections were organized. Everything was donated to national and local organizations: Restos du Cœur, the Göteborg Community Mission, Telefono Rosa, Strasbourg Action Solidarité, the Maison de Marthe et Marie and the Proton Center Endowment Fund.

In the United Kingdom, charitable initiatives were not lacking in originality. Our specialist subsidiaries, IronmongeryDirect and Rapid Racking, and Manutan UK launched a Christmas sweater competition in aid of Save the Children and Macmillan Cancer Support. Meanwhile, IronmongeryDirect, a strong supporter of mental health, also ran a Christmas raffle to raise funds for Basildon Mind.

Some subsidiaries, meanwhile, extended the Christmas spirit beyond their own walls. This was the case at Manutan Holland, where employees donated decorations to an old people's home, and even went so far as to install them on site. For its part, Manutan Norway offered an entire Christmas evening (including dinner and gifts) to a family who could not afford it, through the "Give a Christmas" organization.

Some teams even overshadowed Santa Claus! At subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, employees donated toys to the Adra children's charity and a parcel filled with small gifts for Robert, an elderly gentleman in need.

At Manutan Collectivités, the teams also designed solidarity boxes (containing a note, a hobby, a warm item of clothing, a delicacy...) which were then distributed by Secours Populaire. 

All these actions were made possible thanks to the generosity of all our employees. We continue to uphold our mission: to work for a better world.
