Manutan gets into the spirit of the Paris 2024 Games!
The Manutan Group has always placed employee fulfilment and development at the heart of its strategy. This is reflected in the ongoing promotion of sport for all. A symbol of sharing, conviviality and surpassing oneself, sport plays a key role in the daily lives of our employees. In the run-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, there are more and more sporting events.
Every year, we organise a major sporting challenge open to all our employees across Europe, called ‘Spring into Action’. Over the course of a month, they have to take as many steps as possible as a team, whether by walking, running or even cycling. This year, almost 500 participants took part, covering more than 64,000 km.
In addition to this internal challenge, we have another annual event: the Ardéchoise cycle race (France). A small group of enthusiasts, including Group Chairman Xavier Guichard, are once again taking part in one of Europe's biggest cycling events! Together, they embarked on a two-day journey covering 223 km and 4,330 metres of ascent.
Our employees are also regularly involved in local sport, in all disciplines. The Manutan France football team took part in the Solidarity Football Tournament at Clairefontaine, organised by Sport dans la Ville, our long-standing partner which helps young people to integrate into society and the workplace through sport. Meanwhile, our badminton players competed against their peers in the inter-company tournament organised by the Comité Départemental de Badminton.
For its part, Casal Sport got involved in the Duathlon des 6 Contrées. As well as hosting the finish line on its site, around twenty employees took part as runners. Our sports equipment subsidiary was also awarded the title of most represented company in terms of participants and trophies.
At Manutan, we are fervent supporters of corporate sport. That's why we recently obtained Active Workplace Certification. With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games just around the corner, it's important to remember the catalytic power of sport in terms of well-being, cohesion and performance within organisations.
