Manutan Group awarded “Master” level for its refurbishment activities

13 November 2025

As a leading European B2B e-commerce company, the Manutan Group is firmly committed to building a more responsible business model by guiding its ecosystem towards a circular economy. Within our Circular Hub, we have developed a range of refurbished products for our customers. This initiative has now been independently verified by the FCBA Technological Institute, a recognised third-party organisation in the furniture industry. Following a rigorous audit, we have been awarded the “Master” level for our office chair refurbishment activities a first in the reuse market and a key milestone that validates the quality of our refurbishment process.

A Rigorous Recognition

Achieving the “Master” level confirms the high standards applied across every aspect of our refurbishment operations within the Circular Hub — from expertise and logistics to operations and customer service.

The certification is based on a detailed evaluation framework, featuring weighted criteria and documented evidence for each level of requirement.

This recognition demonstrates that Manutan Group:

  • Has a dedicated quality manager and established training procedures;
  • Ensures enhanced traceability of supply and rigorous stock monitoring;
  • Implements robust refurbishment processes, systematically including functional testing and risk assessment;
  • Provides transparent product documentation, supported by warranties and tailored customer service.

The FCBA, acting as an independent third-party body, has issued this verification under its DQ VV 25-002 programme, in accordance with the international standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17029.

A First in the Industry

This verification programme represents a pioneering initiative in the professional furniture sector. Its aim is to formalise and promote best practices in refurbishment, offering customers confidence in the quality and reliability of refurbished products. It marks a major step forward in structuring and accelerating the growth of the second-hand furniture market.

Pierre-Emmanuel Saint-Esprit, Director of Circular Economy and Client Decarbonisation, explains:
“We’re proud to announce that Manutan Group is the first company to be audited by the FCBA Technological Institute as part of its verification programme for refurbished office chairs. It’s a strong signal to our customers: we have the expertise and industrial capability to offer safe, reliable, high-quality second-hand products.”

With this audit, Manutan Group has reached an important milestone in making reuse a reflex in the B2B sector, while strengthening its position as a company committed to sustainable innovation.
